A controller in every
hospital room.

Consoles for Hope is a new charitable effort putting brand new gaming consoles, games, and accessories into the hands of kids receiving hospital care. Based in New York, NY, with work in San Diego and Florida.

Our mission

Every child deserves a chance to play. We work to make sure a hospital stay doesn’t take that away, by donating gaming consoles, games, and accessories to the wards and playrooms where kids spend their days.

Games give kids something a hospital schedule rarely does: a choice. What to play, who to play with, when to stop. That small bit of control matters.

Our story

Consoles for Hope started with a few friends who grew up with a controller in hand. Gaming is where we met people, killed time, and got through hard weeks — and we always wanted to find a way to give that back.

The idea got specific when we started thinking about hospital days: long, boring, and mostly out of a kid’s control. A console changes that. It gives a kid something to look forward to, something to be good at, and a way to play with a sibling, a parent, or a nurse on a slow afternoon.

So we buy consoles, games, and accessories brand new, and we give them to the wards and playrooms that ask for them. No used gear, no cost to the hospital. Every kid deserves the chance to game, and a hospital stay shouldn’t be what takes that away.

What we stand for

Kids first, always

Nothing we do is worth a photo if it isn’t good for the child in the room. Staff and families decide what’s appropriate.

New in the box, always

We only give new, sealed equipment, never used or refurbished, so it arrives clean and works the first time.

Show the work

Where the gear came from and where it went, posted openly as we grow.

Where we are today

We are early. Our 501(c)(3) application is pending and we are building relationships with hospital child life teams. We do not plan to ask the public for money: our partner LVLUP donates to Consoles for Hope on every giveaway campaign they run, and that is what pays for the gear.
